Specific promotion of the plan and implementation effect

 

1. Establish the “MTI Green Product (GP) Management System" and incorporate it into the current management system, and at the same time assist suppliers to establish their green supply chain system and continue to implement green manufacturing processes.

2. It strengthened corporate governance to increase shareholders' equity, and won the top 35% of listed companies in corporate governance evaluation for five consecutive years.

3. Implement energy-saving and carbon-reduction strategies to reduce the use of resources and ensure the sustainability of environmental resources. Implement power outage operations in idle areas. The water-saving target is that the monthly average total water consumption is less than 3,887 degrees, and the waste resource recovery reaches the target rate of 40%.

4. It has passed ISO 14001, ISO 45001/TOSHMS and other environmental, safety and health management system certifications, and regularly conducts employee health inspections and safety and hygiene lectures every year.

Environmental Performance

(1) Power Consumption

The company implements rigorous management on the power consumption for production. The facility affairs department is designated to adopt various energy-saving measures, such as power loading and peak management, replacement with high efficiency and energy-saving equipment, reduction of contract capacity with Taiwan Power and establishment of various energy management procedures. 2021 power consumption management indicator is as shown in the following table:

(2) Water Resource

All of the water used by the company is tap water, and the main water source is from Hsinchu Baoshan Reservoir No. 2. During the process, no process waste water is generated, and the clean rainwater of the facility site is drained into the ground rainwater gutter, such that it complies with the divergence of rainwater and waste water. 2021 water consumption management indicator is as shown in the following table:

(3) Solid Wastes

The company actively implements waste reduction activities from the aspects of manufacturing, raw material use and packaging material improvement. In recent years, the company further enhances the waste classification and resource recycling and reuse, in order to further reduce the waste volume.

(4) Eco Efficiency Ratio

With the GHG inventory checking as the basic information, the inventory checking scope is further expanded, and suppliers are requested to participate in the execution of energy saving and carbon reduction activities in action. In 2020, total carbon emission of MTI is 5,240 tons (inventory checking scope includes MTI's plants in Taiwan and China).

Eco Efficiency Ratio (EER) = CO2 equivalence (tons) / Revenue (NT$ 1 million)

 

The main emission sources of the company are: (1) power consumption (2) dry ice (for testing)

 

  • CO2 equivalence per KWh: 0.612 (kg/KWh) (corrected according to the annual announcement data of Taiwan Power Company)
  •  CO2 equivalence per degree of water consumption: 0.207 (kg/degree) (corrected according to the annual announcement data of Taiwan Water Corporation)
